MODBUSisdigitalcommunicationprotocolanddiffersinoperationfrom4to20mAtransmissionand
theHARTcommunication.ItisrecommendedthatusersuseMODBUSdevicesinaccordancewiththe
proceduresdescribedinthissection.TheproceduresassumethatMODBUSdeviceswillbesetupona
bench of an instrument shop.
4.1 Wiring in ROTAMASS 3 Terminal Box

Wiring:
•Conrm one ferrite core is attached to the owmeter.
•Insert the power cable into the ferrite core before connecting to the terminals. Fix the ferrite core to the
cable with clamping wire.
• Connect the power cables to the terminals according to the gures below.
• Connect the MODBUS- cables to the terminals according to the gure below.
•FortheconnectionofprotectivegroundconductortoPEterminalofRCCF31/RCCT3useacrimp-on
ringtypeterminal.ForRCCR31connecttheprotectivegroundconductortoPEterminalofterminal
board.
The maximum length of MODUS cable depends on different inuences. Please see the MODBUS-
specication.
